Introducing the dedicated team at Arimathea, where our approach to investment screening is firmly grounded in Christian beliefs and values. At the heart of our mission lies a commitment to integrating thoughtful guidelines rooted in Catholic moral theology. Our unwavering dedication to this principle is the cornerstone of our ability to offer our Catholic investors faith-driven portfolios that align with their spiritual values.

Borja Barragán

Mr. Barragan is a Spanish national and a devoted family man, happily married to Carolina and father of seven children. As a distinguished finance professional with over 20 years of experience, he has worked with top institutions like Goldman Sachs and Bank of America Merrill Lynch. In 2018, he founded Altum Faithful Investing®, a financial advisory firm that follows the criteria of the magisterium of the Catholic Church for every one of its investment decisions.

At Altum, Borja combines his financial experience with insights gained from focused programs from Harvard University, as well as IESE and St. Damaso University in Madrid. He also relies on a deep understanding of family values gained from his Master’s degree in Family Apostolate from the Pontifical John Paul II Institute for Studies on Marriage and Family. Borja is a board member of Fondazione Centesimus Annus Pro-Pontifice at the Vatican. Being a firm supporter of religious freedom, he also serves on the board of the Pontifical Foundation Aid to the Church in Need.

Daniel R. Catone

Daniel Catone, founder of Arimathea, champions financial growth intertwined with the common good. Guided by Catholic teachings, he believes investments in line with Catholic social teaching embody the Catholic faith in finance.

Graduating from Whittier College in History and Political Science, Catone’s professional journey commenced at the United Nations in Geneva. By 2001, he pivoted to Edward Jones Investments, eventually pioneering Redwood Investments. This venture laid the foundation for the Golden State family of companies, aiding financial professionals in achieving their goals.

With a master’s in Catholic Theology, Catone’s pro-bono contributions to the Catholic Church emphasize his conviction that impact investing is essential for responsibly stewarding God’s gifts to us.
